Sitting atop the cliffs in Tangiers and looking out over the sea, the Casbah used to be an old strategic military fortification. Now however it is the home of many small slender streets, as well as plenty of restaurants and charm.
The top attraction of Tangier, the Médina is a labyrinth of alleyways both commercial and residential. It’s contained by the walls of a 15th-century Portuguese fortress.
Morocco is known for its many colorful markets, and Tangier is no different, with many small stalls selling a bit of everything!
A visit to the quiet, heavily forested place flanked by an elegant line of colonial buildings, perfect for cooling down in the shadow.
Also known as the Sultanate Palace, it is a historical building and museum, previously the residence for the Sultans of Morocco when staying in the city. This beutiful palace was rebuilt in 1684 by King Moulay Ismail.
Through small, narrow streets leading into the jewish area, we will find the old jewish synagogue.
A square in medina known to be the gathering point for many famous artists such as Paul Bowles, William Burroughs and Tennessee Williams. Also the perfect place for a resfreshing mint tea.
